Silver Poodles are a dilute of black. It also carries the fading gene.
A silver Poodle is born black and usually clears by the age of 2, sometimes with a Standard
Poodle it may take a little longer.
Silver Poodles should have a silver face and feet by the age of 6 weeks to be a real silver, the
rest of the coat will follow in suit over the next few years. It is from the face
and feet that the silvering appears to move up into the body.
The longer part of the coat may be a black to dark grey to almost dark brown until it clears and
grows out.
There are varying shades of silver to sparkling platinum that is almost white to a beautiful
pewter colour.
